Evacuations from the VV endanger the parliamentary majority: New Challenges for Kurti Government in the Parliament

Although there are 53 deputies left within the Assembly, the Vetevendosje Movement insists they still have the majority within the Assembly, but that recently say they have had problems with the quorum because of commitments MPs have abroad. In the list of 120 names, every second candidate of the Vetevendosje Movement has become MP, statistical and not reaching Kosovo's history.
Some four years later, things have changed. Drita Millaku, Emman Canman, Visar Korenica, Doarsa Kica-Jali, Haki Abazi and Fatmir Humolli are 6 deputies removed, leaving Vetevendosje with 53 deputies in the Assembly.
In addition to the evacuations, there have been increased instances when chief speaker Koinufca invites MPs to disperse with this sentence.
However, ruling party deputies insist they still have the majority in parliament, but also count on backing MPs from communities.
Victory MP Pacolli says recent problems have been the commitments of MPs abroad.
“We are trying to keep the following days a meeting of the Parliament where we will have most of the deputies, pass all the laws we have in order of the day, and then we will be prepared for other laws”, has told Tv Victory Dukagjin Pacolli MP of the Vetevendosje Movement.
In Pacolli's reasoning, Naim Jakaj, senior researcher at the Kosovo Institute for Justice, disagrees.
The “is seeing that even this week is already lacking in the session that we believe in because of the lack of votes, in the plenary session there will be no such session”, said Naim Jakaj top researcher at the IKD.
The other issue Pacolli accounts for helping others is voting international agreements. She says they count on the will of the opposition, which according to her should follow Vetevendosje's example while in opposition.
It is shameful to reach an international agreement with a European state and then fail to cross it to the Parliament because of the resentments the opposition holds with us”, said Victory Pacolli MP of the Vetevendosje Movement.
Optimism also reinforces Pacolli's budget vote for 2024, which expects him to be voted without any problems. And for this challenge, Jakaj, the key to success, says the opposition has it in his hand.
The parliamentary subsumption has already used arrogance in the past years, in the meantime this year will be facing a challenge we believe will now require even the opposition vote, but to demand the opposition vote, a parliamentary majority such as the Vetevendosje Movement, which for a few numbers will not be able to pass the bill, then it will have to dialogue and negotiate in a transparent way that a bill pass with the condition the opposition possibly adopt some other draft<1> has said Jakim as a senior researcher.
According to IKD data, the government has implemented only 29% of the bills planned for this year, 35 bills have been adopted by 119.
