Economy expert Arben Mustafa has indicated that in a year, over 13 thousand businesses have disappeared in Kosovo.
The PDK Finance Department co-ordinator has written on his Facebook page that in 2023, Kosovo had 13,302 businesses less than in 2022.
This disturbing fact shows that Kosovo is becoming less and less attractive to do business every day. So not that we are not able to attract foreign investment, but we are not even able to keep existing businesses in Kosovo”, Mustafa said.
The decline in the number of businesses, according to Mustafa, is in the same line as the ongoing decline in private sector investments and the worsening trade deficit at the highest level we've ever had.
Kosovo cannot continue with this trend of degradation, which is reflected in the deterioration of the standard of living of each citizen”, Mustafa said.
