Defence Ministry: We have 106 people to solve the problem, KSF will soon be served with quality food.

The released communiqué reportedly that following the admission of the kitchen's professional staff, this problem would be a thing of the past.

“Initially, we want to clarify that it is false news that Minister Macedonia has sent a letter to Prime Minister Kurti through which the minister allegedly stresses that he refuses to sign the food supply contract with the new economic operator. Such a letter has not been sent”, it says in clarification.

According to the ministry, with Minister Macedonia's directive sent on Friday 11 October, the tender has been cancelled, due to the dispute that exists between the group of announced winning operators, one of which has submitted and personally request for approval of the tender. This legal uncertainty produced in this case has led Minister Macedonia not to sign the contract, which therefore, such an unwritten tender does not produce any legal or financial consequences.

“Taking the trigger and from this case, the minister in consultation with the deputy minister, advisers, commander and relevant KSF structures has generated the concept of self- control as the best option for resolving the current food problem. The failure to continue the contract with the operator so far does not mean paralyzing the delivery of this service”.

Despite what is being tried to make public through spreading false news, we reiterate that the defence ministry has for the first time initiated procedures to build its own capacities. As each barracks currently engages Kosovo Correcting Service cooks and Student Centre, on October 10th the Defence Ministry website has opened the competition for accepting the professional staff of kitchens. With the admission of the 106-person personnel, this problem will belong to the past. Without large financial costs, the military will only be served quality food” is said at the Defence Ministry's announcement.
