Rescue teams in Bosnia and Herzegovina have continued search for missing persons, following deadly floods.
Due to rains and landslides Thursday and Friday in Bosnia and Herzegovina, at least 16 people have died and many others have been injured.
The government of the Bosnia and Herzegovina District and Neretva (HNK) said on October 5th that 13 lifeless bodies were found on the territory of this canton, rather than 16, as was said the day before. The authorities explained that three victims had been counted twice.
Twelve of the victims in the district were from Donja Jabllanica and one from Koniqi.
Six people are considered missing in Jablanica, and four others in Konjjic.
Authorities in Jablanica have reported large material damage as construction vehicles on October 5th are working to remove stones and ruins.
As a result of nature's disaster, some villages continue to be blocked due to road infrastructure damage.
Also, due to floods, holding local elections in Jablanica, Konjik, Kisshak and Cresevo have been postponed.
So Bosnia and Herzegovina's Central Election Commission decided on 5 October.
In Fojnica, holding elections has been postponed to three polling stations.
The decision to hold elections in these municipalities will be made after the conditions for holding them are met, authorities said.
Local elections in Bosnia are scheduled for Sunday, October 6th.
In addition to Bosnia, there have been floods in other countries of the region in recent days, including in Albania, Montenegro and Croatia. / REL/
