The accused of attacking the police and KFOR, Lazar Dejanovic, at the initial review hearing Wednesday has reached agreement with the Special Prosecutor on admitting guilt.
The event had taken place on May 29th 2023 near the Zvecan municipality facility.
The chairman of the court, Judge Valon Kurtaj, has asked defendant Dejanovic if he is aware of giving up a regular judicial process after agreeing to reach the agreement. In this regard, the defendant said the agreement has reached it with free will and that he acknowledges that he has committed the criminal act he is accused of, writes the Law for Justice.
The case prosecutor, Bekim Cordaliu, said that after accepting the defendant's plea and accepting the Special Prosecutor's Chief Prosecutor's Prosecutor's Prosecution's authorship, 14.10.2024 has reached agreement.
He proposed the court that, in the case of the conviction against the accused, for the criminal offence of assault on the official person committed in the joints, the sentence is pronounced from 8 to 10 months in prison, and that under this sentence, the estimated time spent in custody, while for the work participation in the mob that committed criminal acts and hooliganism, it is pronounced a six-month prison sentence with the possibility of replacing between 10,000 and 11 thousand euros.
While the defender of indictee Dejanovic, lawyer Lujbomir Pantovic, said the plea agreement has been reached and accepted in a manner and conditions, as the case prosecutor suggested. He said he considers all conditions of the KPP have been met so that the court can accept the agreement reached for admission of guilt.
“As far as the criminal offence is concerned with the mob's participation in hooliganism, I announced to the court that the defendant is willing to serve a six-month prison sentence to be changed to fine sentences.
Later, Judge Kurtaj announced that the court agrees with reaching this agreement between the accused and the Prosecutor.
The bias in this case is expected to be announced today by the Pristina Constitutional Court.
The Act against defendants Dejanovic has been established by the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo on 15 October 2024.
According to the indictment of the defendant on the date 29.05.23, near the Zvecan municipality's facility, in co-ordination with other war crimes indictees from Kosovo and Serbia, through the use of violence they have been attacked and seriously detained by soldiers of the KFOR peacekeeping mission, as well as by members of the Kosovo Police.
