A new contingent by Bulgaria's Armed Forces has launched its mission as part of the NATO Peacekeeping Force in Kosovo, KFOR.
This second contingent will operate under Regional Command “West”.
A formal ceremony was held at the base of Pristina, where Lieutenant Colonel Zahari Dimov, the outgoing national commander, transferred the national flag to the incoming commander, Lieutenant Colonel Tsvetan Deyanov of the Joint Forces Command, welcoming both flags, NATO and Bulgarian.
Hristo Goodzhev, Bulgaria's ambassador to Kosovo, also participated in the event. He expressed pride in the contribution of Bulgarian military to KFOR and handed over certificates troops for successful arrivals in the mission.
The contingent consists of personnel of various units, including the 4th Arterial Regiment, Regiment 101 Alpin and the 110th Regiment of Land Forces Logistics, as well as members of the Mobile Communication and Information System by Joint Forces Command.
Their responsibilities will include providing security assistance, carrying out patrols and conducting oversight within their designated area of responsibility, writes Novinite
