Banned custody of three suspects in Kline drug plantation

The Constitutional Prosecutor in Pec has applied for the appointment of the detention measure for three defendants -- Gzim Gashi, Faik Gashi and Selim Gashi -- suspected of cultivating narcotic plants.

The prosecution's request, which Dukagjini owns, is said to have met the legal conditions for the detention assignment, according to the Penal Procedure Code's provisions, to prevent the escape of indictees and to ensure continued investigative procedure.

The defendants, Gzim Gashi and Faik Gashi, are under ban from the 30.10.2024.2400 hour 16:30 p.m., while defendant Selim Gashi is in detention from the 3110.2024 hour 12:00 , with the suspicion of having to commit criminal acts “Constructuring the cane plant, cocaine bush or cannabis plants<2> by Article 272 par. 1 connected to Article 77 and Article 275 pars. Also, the prosecution's request says defendant Albion Kalemi is on the run and his whereabouts are unknown.

With all these defendants, Guzim, Faik and Selim have extremely good reports.

Therefore, with the release of indictees Guzim, Faik and Selim in freedom, there is real danger of influenceing witnesses, with particular emphasis on the other indictees who are on the run, all in order to prepare their defence in favour of”, the prosecution says.

According to the prosecution, Fik Gashi is known for police bodies, including in two cases of counterfeiting documents in the 1920s and 2024.

While Gzim Gashi has a long criminal history, with 67 criminal cases as a suspect and 22 counts of formal form.

On the other hand, Selim Gashi is suspected in nine criminal cases and has two convictions of the formal form.
