German news agency dpa reported that the suspect is expected to appear before the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe, the country's highest court.
An Israeli Embassy spokesman in Berlin confirmed there was a plan to attack the diplomatic mission, writes euronewsHe's following in on Telegrafie.
Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor thanked German security authorities “for ensuring the safety of embassy”.
News of the case came first from the German newspaper Bild, which reported that a heavily armed elite police unit attacked the suspect's apartment in Bernau and that police also raided an apartment in the western German town of Sankt Augustin in connection with the case.
According to Bild, German authorities acted after receiving information from a non-designed foreign intelligence agency.
