The arrest of Meta and former SP delegation Edi Rama: Politics on the Rise

A day after former Socialist delegation Jurgis Cyrbja was arrested and today's grip on Freedom Party President Ilir Meta, Prime Minister Edi Rama, says politics is being renewed.

At a meeting with young Socialists Rama, although not mentioning names, he spoke of the SPAK arrests in politics.

Clean hands do a job, dirty another thing, showing does one thing, secrets do another thing. So it requires a lot of strength, too much internal power not to give up, because politics in Albania today is at a moment of degradation, as it is at the same time a moment of reformation. It's like a body that's gone through a certain phase and now it's starting to reshape because it's got a very degraded part of it, and it's got an internal incentive to regenerate. The SP has the duty to postpone this renewal. The SP is the oldest and youngest party in Albania, that's why the SP has won, and will win again. Being a force with history is not weakness, it's a very important capacity, that you can put in the dispoziobon country.

But when a force with past history dominates, and the future is seen with the eyes of the past, then this force is outdated. And when a force of history is the future that dominates the vision, and the past is seen with the eyes of the future, then it is a force as old as young. Trying to turn this around in a living way and co-operating with Albania is a must. I have good news, the transition to Albania is over. Albania today is on the table negotiating EU integration. For me last week was the most historic moment I've been on duty. The historical moment to show what has taken us to remove our backs as a burden from past moments to show that we are a force that can guarantee the future”, Rama said.
