Friday's heavy rain flooded houses, businesses and roads. No casualties reported.
Vlora Mayor Ermal Dredha told the media that the situation remains disturbing and that many other families also seek to evacuate.
“Rainfalls were very dense. The rain fell for a long time, two hours and 30 minutes without stopping, which caused and a negative effect on the section of the high water canal that has been out of bed and all the water flows into the middle of town. The situation has really been alarming”, said Dress.
Albania's National Civil Protection Agency and Armed Forces, following call for support from local government in Vlora, arrived there in two motor boats, two teams equipped with two motormompas, eight high calysity vehicles and 30 military forces.
Rainfalls have also caused floods in Fier, Lushnje, and Pogradec.
Floods have also faced Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro on Friday, with the first one to have suffered the worst disaster in the past 40 years.
At least 19 people have died in Bosnia and Herzegovina and many others have been injured, following the rains that caused landslides. /Rel/
