At least 11 people were killed by Russian bombings in Donnetsk on Saturday, according to regional Governor Vadym Filashkin.
Five children were among the dead, and eight others were injured in the attack on the eastern region of Ukraine, partially occupied by Russia, Euronews reports.
Emergency services believe that the number of victims could increase as another six persons appear to be under the ruins of a destroyed building.
While Ukrainian President Wolfymyr Zelenskiy said Russia should feel the consequences of any such attack, adding that no such attack will go unpunished against”.
The grenades hit the town of Pokrovsk, about 50km from the front line.
Before the war, it had a population of 600,000. Nine people were killed and 82 were injured in August by Russian bombings.
