Walker: I'm shocked at what happened to Sandulovic, I hope Vucinq is conducting investigations.

Regarding all of this event in which Serbian politician Sandulovic is involved, in an exclusive conversation for Gazette Express has spoken to US diplomat and former OSCE Ambassador to Kosovo William Walker.

Walker for Gazeta Express has said he is shocked by what he heard in the news about Serbian politician Sandulovic, showing he met him several times and how Sandulovic told him about his will and the party platform he runs, to make peace between Kosovo and Serbia.

What I heard in the news is shocked. I've met Mr. President. Sandulovitch a few times, once again in America at my house. He is president of Serbia's Republic Party, and we have often talked about the situation in Serbia and Kosovo. He has always expressed his desire and his party that has tried to bring peace to the situation, instead of its reconciliation, which is seen as the policy of Alexander Vucicit”, Walker said.

In addition Walker has said he hopes that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is making an investigation into what is happening to Sandulovic, since, as Walker puts it, the arrest and beating of political opponents only takes place in Russia at Putin and in dictatorial countries.

He's the leader of another political party that's not in Government, he's been captured, and from what I've been told, the photos show he's badly beaten and that's unforgivable”, Walker said in the interview for Express.

The retired American diplomat has already called on US Ambassador to Belgrade Christopher Hill to speak and react to Sandulovic's case because, as Walker says, it is about a political party leader, an opposition party. Walker said someone has to take responsibility and pay for what happened to Sandovitch.

I will hope that the American Embassy and the American Ambassador to Belgrade will talk about this topic. I see he hasn't spoken. I call on Ambassador Hill to make some comments about this... because he's a political figure, a leader of a political party, an opposition party, but to catch him beating him is, as I said, unforgivable and someone has to pay for this crime”, the retired American diplomat said.

Walker has said he does not expect Alexander Vucic to say something about Sandulovic's case, because even after Recak's Massacre, Walker remembers that Alexander Vuciq has been highly critical of anyone who has said that Serbian police have done something wrong, not counting at all the murder of over 40 Albanian civilians in Recak.

Walker has said that if Aleksandar Vucic claims to be a serious democratic politician of Serbia, he should conduct an investigation and bring to justice anyone who has been the author of Sandulovic's case.

This is an example in Belgrade where under his rule, I'm sure who exactly arrested the victim, but captured and beat him very badly. This is unacceptable and Vucic if he wants to pretend to be a serious democratic leader of Serbia, he certainly has to make an investigation and follow whoever made it”, Walker said in the Express conversation.

Speaking of the published video as Sandulovic lays flowers at the Jasharean cemetery, Walker for Express said he noticed that some have taken it as provocation, but he says that because of his recognition of Sandulovic and his party, Serbian politician's intentions, according to Walker, have been to unite people and not separate them.

I understand that's what people think was a provocation. I know the frame of the party as the Republican party, which they've been trying to bring people together and not to share”, Walker has managed.

This can't be accepted in a civilized place. And Serbia under Vucinqik is not a very civilized country, it is more like Putin's Moscow”, William Walker has added further.

As for low reporting in Serbia on what is happening to Serbian politician Nikola Sandulovic, Walker says it shows that the media there are under the control of Alexander Vuciqi. Walker has said the fact that he is being called by a Kosovo media to get his comment shows that there are free media in Kosovo.

This shows that the media are under very good control from Vuciki, he has been minister of propaganda during Recak's time, and he continues to tell lies about Recak that he knows they're true. And in Kosovo you have free media. The fact that you're calling me to ask me about my opinion, and I'm sure you'll publish it like I'm saying. There are free media in Kosovo, and not in Serbia”, Walker has said.

Walker has said he hopes that the US Embassy in Belgrade will speak of Sandulovic's case, adding that if he were Ambassador to the country of Christopher Hill, he would issue a statement about an opposition political leader who has been caught and beaten badly.

Walker has said this is unacceptable for a democratic country, and points out that this is what is happening in Serbia.

“Sic said, I hope the American Embassy in Belgrade will come out and show what's going on with Mr. Sandulovich. If I were ambassador to Belgrade, I would certainly go out to make a statement about a leader of a political party being captured and badly beaten. This is simply unacceptable for a democratic state, and this is happening in Serbia”, Walker has indicated..
