Violet von Cromon, said she feels ashamed of what Kosovo citizens have been waiting so long for visa liberalisation, because according to her, the criteria had been fulfilled since 2018, she has told RTK.
“As far as visa liberalisation is concerned with Kosovo, she said liberalisation facilitates some things by enabling each to have the same approach to the European Union, but what we need to create is the economic perspective in Kosovo, which should have incentives for self-employment, well-paid jobs”, she said.
As for her visit to Kosovo, Cremon said she has met with different parties and with people different from the opposition as well as the government, adding that it is a rather mixed view and there are many ways to go and there is a kind of level of frustration, in the sense of things that are not walking in the way they should walk.
She said that the level of maturity of democracy depends not only on the stability of governance but also on the rights the opposition enjoys.
“On the one hand is a good thing, there is a stable majority in parliament, on the other hand, yet the level of maturity of democracy depends not only on the stability of governance but also on the rights that the opposition enjoys and then on how it interacts with the opposition, and at this point I would say things could improve”, said von Cromon.
Von Croamon said he would like to see things move towards European integration for what more commitment and commitment is needed on the part of the government.
As for recognising Kosovo from Serbia, Von Croamon indicated that it is difficult to predict such a thing, but what it should, according to her, is the great pressure from the European Union, from the United States of America, to make sure that situations such as Banjska's do not repeat again, and that Serbia will also be able to fulfil its pledges in the sense of recognition.
“What we want to see and work on in this direction is accepting the Ohrid Agreement, and that the selective approach Serbia has chosen is not acceptable”, she said.
Von Croamon said that Kosovo should implement the Association of Serb majority municipalities and that without its implementation it would be very difficult to move forward.
