Albulen Haxhiu has provided a clarification following the distribution of the wrong information from Prime Minister Albin Kurti at today's Kosovo Government meeting.

Speaking of Kosovo detainees in Serbia, Prime Minister Kurti said that Nezir Mehmetaj and Petrit Dula are staying in Serbia's “prisons, though Dula was released from Serbian authorities a few months ago.

This is not the first time, this is Serbia's deliberate and malicious behaviour that conflicts with international conventions. Serbia also holds Petrit Dula of Nezir Mehmetaj, in custody for alleged war crimes. Nezir Mehmetaj has stayed for months without an indictment. Petrit Dula suffers imprisonment based on the court's ruling, despite the witness in his case denying that Dula was author of the work even when he was questioned by authorities in Podgorica,” said Kurti on Wednesday.

After Prime Minister Kurti's statement, Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu was forced to come out with a clarification at the media conference shortly after the meeting.

Haxhi did not blame the government chief. He said the prime minister has stressed that Dula has been released, but she said the blame lies with the prime minister's speech writers, who have technically erred.

Before we begin, let me make a clarification in relation to the word of Prime Minister Kurti. Shortly after Prime Minister Kurti concluded his word, we consulted together in connection with Petrit Dula and Nezir Mehmetajn, who, the latter, is being held in prisons in Serbia. Meanwhile, as for Petrit Dula, the prime minister stressed that the same has been released, but Petrit Dula and Nezir Mehmetaj have entered a paragraph. So let me explain it to them; the idea has been to talk about cruel treatment, and also about the injustices Serbia continues to commit to our citizens by keeping them in custody without any evidence whatsoever and with no evidence”, she said.

Nezir Mehmetaj is still being held in Serbian prisons.

Meanwhile, Petrit Dula was released in April of this year, as he has announced in a conversation with television “Dukagini”.

“Po, I was released on April 7, (2023), while arrested on June 4th, 2022x1>, he said.
