Macedonia's Assembly has reacted to allegations by the Journalists' Association for the participation of several journalists in the Assembly.

“Regarding the concern expressed by the Journalists' Association in a letter to the Cabinet to the Speaker of the Parliament, but also through the media, and about the session that was held on January 28th 2024, in which the North Republic of Macedonia Technical Government was elected, we are not talking about a privileged relationship of Parliament to specific journalists, nor about non-progress treatment of journalists and media workers from local media.

We want to stress that because of the increased interest of representatives from the locals, but also from the foreign media, which were regularly accredited until January 26th this year, it was found that the interest in attending the plenary session has increased significantly in terms of common practice, so we have made all capacity of the” gallery available, says the Assembly response.

We assure you, adding from there, that the North Macedonian Republic Assembly remains an open institution for citizens, but also for media representatives with whom we have so far taken constructive and productive co-operation, in the interest of timely and sustainable information of citizens, and that co-operation will deepen in the future.
