The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has today met with KFOR Commander Major General ãozkan Ulutaş, with whom she discussed the security situation in the country.

She thanked KFOR for the continued commitment of this force as the third reacter, to ensure security in the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo. In particular, she expressed gratitude for KFOR, which has increased the number of troops that are supporting Kosovo institutions on border patrol with Serbia, in particular following Serbia's 24 September act of aggression.

The president Osmani at the meeting with Commander Ulitaş has noted the importance of continuing co-ordination between KFOR and its primary security partner, the Kosovo Police, as well as co-ordination with all security institutions in Kosovo, in the best interests of stability and security for all Kosovo citizens, regardless of ethnicity.

The president was also informed about the situation of soldiers of the multinational force injured in northern Kosovo in May. She pointed out that Serbian criminal gangs that attacked NATO are unfortunately still free and that impunity against those who attacked KFOR in May is a bad message and is an encouragement for Serbia to attack again.

The president expressed full confidence that Kosovo institutions, in co-operation with the Allied forces, will contain any possible attack by Serbia, thereby preserving peace and stability in the country and the region.
