O'Brien has said there are three countries in the region for which special attention is needed. He has started with dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, and the situation in northern Kosovo, saying the US supports EU emissary Miroslav Lajcak's efforts in the dialogue process.
He has said that Kosovo and Serbia must fulfil their obligations in the dialogue, and according to O'Brien, it is very important that the two countries avoid any provocative action in the north of the Republic of Kosovo.

He has already cited the Kosovo Police's co-operation with EULEX and KFOR in terms of the situation in the north and has said they are satisfied with co-operation and that they expect that to continue further.
