Adnan Aslan from the “Genocide Centre in Kosovo {open wound” citing the number of victims of recent war, has sought to condemn the Serbian genocide that occurred a quarter century ago in Kosovo.
“25 years ago, Serbian forces committed terrible acts of genocide, killing over 10,000 Albanians, raping over 20,000 Albanian women and men. And by driving away the majority of the population from Kosovo and destroying Albanian cultural heritage sites. All of these are genocides and we seek to condemn this genocide”, he stressed.
While writer Bardhil Mahmut stressed that January 15th, Genocide Day must be sensationalised in the international arena for justice to prevail.
The January 15th issue should be impressed on the consciousness of any Albanian citizen. We must be distributed into the world because it's a day of genocide. The genocide issue belongs to all humanity, and if we manage to perceive this internationally, we will have international solidification so that justice can prevail and once and for all turn the face of history”, he said.
Former President Flora Brovina has called on Kosovo's friendly states to issue resolutions against genocide so that Kosovo can be easier to press charges against Serbia.
The “now needs to encourage even government institutions to work harder so that the parliaments of friendly states start to issue resolutions, starting with Albania against the genocide that occurred in Kosovo. That's because it's easy for us to get the charge up and prove it. Very difficult is the fight with the hell, the goddammit is all around us”, she said.
State leaders, accompanied by former Ambassador William Walker, today after paying their respects on the 25th anniversary of the Recak massacre, accused Serbia of genocide in Kosovo.
