Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has announced on Monday that Israel has decided to lift visas for Kosovo citizens.

During a meeting, Ambassador Ziv announced Osmani's compliance with the Israeli government to approve visa removal for Kosovo citizens, who will soon enjoy freedom of visa-free travel to Israel for tourist purposes.

Meanwhile, Israel's ambassador through a post on the X platform has said this positive development occurs in less than three years from Israel's recognition of Kosovo.

“less than three years after the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two states, the Israeli State Government has decided to approve the visa-free agreement for citizens of the Republic of Kosovo”, Ziv wrote on the X platform.

She has said Kosovo citizens will be announced as soon as the decision goes into effect.

The two relevant ministries will continue signing procedures, and citizens will be notified once the decision goes into effect”, it has added.

“I hope this important moment in our bilateral relations will further promote increased co-operation among our states and bring our citizens closer to”, Israel's ambassador to Kosovo has further written.
