Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi has called for the process of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia to be separated from the process of Kosovo integration into the European Union.
He made these statements at a joint conference with Czech Republic Minister for European Affairs Martin Dvorak, where he also aimed at removing EU measures towards Kosovo.
Bislimi stressed that in the process of dialogue, Kosovo is a party and as long as they feel that something has not gone through the process according to the dynamics that are thought to be fair, he says they will be publicly expressed.
We have shared many historical moments and successes with the Czech government. On December 15th 2022, Prime Minister Kurti in Prague submitted Kosovo's application for EU membership. Our work with the Czech Republic has brought results. Because of this excellent co-operation we have established co-operation at the ambassador level with full rights. We have also discussed current measures against Kosovo. Our position is that the measures must be removed, but most importantly, the process of dialogue is to be separated from the EU integration process”.
“We are not EU agents but representatives of Kosovo institutions. The basic agreement has 11 paragraphs, and none of them dominate the next paragraph. The implementation Annex requires all of them to be implemented as a whole, without delay, without preconditions. In this context the first step Kosovo is working on is designing the implementation sequence plan”, he said.
