Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said that Kosovo has vital interest that the normalisation process with Serbia be divided by the EU integration process
This, according to him, depends on Serbia more than on Kosovo.
He has said that Kosovo is champion in the Balkans in terms of many processes such as rule of law and economic development, and that he has said it is unfair that Kosovo remains hostage to Serbia's destructivity.
He made these comments in place of the cornerstone for the construction of the residential Centre for elderly people in Podujevo, where he said Belgrade's destructuring should not translate into slow-down of the process for Kosovo.
I reiterate that Kosovo has vital interest that the normalisation process with Serbia, which is more dependent on Serbia than on Kosovo, is divided by the EU integration process. Even in the rule of law, media freedom, human rights, political rights, civil liberties, the quality of elections Serbia is incompatible with Kosovo. Kosovo is a champion of the Balkans in terms of economic growth and social redistribution. Foreign investment has doubled. And now all this economic and democratic process of Kosovo remains hostage to Serbia's disstructuring that orchestrates and finances the paramilitary, is not fair. I understand that the EU wants good neighbourly relations, we are good neighbors but good neighbourly means mutual recognition. Belgrade's restructuring should not translate into slowdown of the process for Kosovo”, he said./eo/
