Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has insisted that there be signatures of the Basic Agreement with Serbia, reached 27 February in Brussels, saying Serbia has violated eight of its 11 articles.
The government's chief has stressed that normal relations with Serbia are important for European peace, security and integration.
At a media conference after meeting with Irish Prime Minister on Thursday, Kurti has said he is insisting on signing, as he wants legal security for the agreement to be implemented and not violated.
We want normal relations with our northern neighbour, and normal relations are good neighbourly European relations. It is important for the peace, security, and European integration that represents both our destiny and our goal. On February 27th, we agreed on the Basic Agreement and on March 18th, the Implementation Annex. The problem is since 11 articles of the Basic Agreement, at least eight have been violated by Serbia. We seek legal security not only for implementation but also for not violating it. That's why we asked for signatures. Normalization should be normal, so we insist on signing. I call on the European Union to always react, even in minor offenses that can be committed, and unfortunately they are frequent, not small,”, Kurti said.
