He has said that Euro is the currency coming from the European Union and that he is not telling anyone to receive the Kosovo Darda, or Leke, of Albania.
Kurti has added that Euro, the only means of paying and trading, is not a negotiable issue.
So in four municipalities in the north there are four banks and there are 15 non-bank financial institutions where remittances and payments can be sent and where all those in the euro can be taken. The euro is the currency that comes to us from the EU, we are not telling anyone about taking Albania's currency freely or a new Dardan currency from Kosovo, but the euro as the only means of payment and trading clearly defined at RKS is not a negotiated issue”, Kurti said.
The CEC has adopted a new regulation, which is expected to go into effect from tomorrow. According to this Euro regulation is the only currency for conducting transactions, thus excluding the dinar.
QU The INT has called for the suspension of implementation of this decision and for this issue to be discussed within the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
