Kovacevski resigns from prime minister post, Talat Xhaferi expected to take position

“Talat Xhaferi has experience in running parliament, I have come with another experience, in management of corporations and we have a different style as politicians, but the state will surely maintain the same direction, pro-Western orientation and strategic goals, the technical government will take good care of citizens. This is something the law predicts, and on May 9th the new government will be guided by me and the coalition that will lead Macedonia into the EU by 2030”, Kovachevski said before handing over the mandate.
In addition to the prime minister, Chief Parliamentary Talat Xhaferi is expected to resign, beginning his post as technical prime minister for 100 days before the upcoming elections.
In this context, a new MP for DUI and new LSDM co-ordinator, Jovan Mitreski, is expected to be elected as speaker of parliament. According to his earlier statement, the entire government must resign today to allow the establishment of a technical government before the parliamentary session Friday.
