The police's reaction comes in after the “certain writings published in different media/portals, where it says that if the RKS Government, it removes some of the powers of the Special Intervention Unit of the KP”.

“The employees' specific tasks according to positions, including the Special Intervention Unit Directorate, are arranged with descriptions of the workplace's tasks and responsibilities, authorisations and tasks that have been and remain unchanged”, the KP response reported.

Full police clarification:

Kosovo police (PK), with the aim of correct informing public opinion, through this official announcement referring to several writings published in different media/portals, where it says that if the RKS Government removes some of the competencies of the Special Intervention Unit of the PC, it informs and explains that;

All police authorisations are defined by law, and other norms that at the general line describe the organisation and internal structure of police, while the specific tasks of employees according to positions -- including the Special Intervention Unit Directorate -- are regulated with descriptions of the workplace's tasks and responsibilities, authorisations and tasks that have been and remain unchanged.

For more, based on the Kosovo Police's organisational structure changed and adopted last year, special units have been dedicated to special importance, raising them from what the Special Units Division has been, now at the Special Unit Department, including NJSI's advancement from the Unit to the head of the Directorate.

Kosovo police remain committed to carrying out legal duties and authorisations, in the interest of development, advance and professional establishment of all police units, in order to serve citizens and the country.
