Israeli military says 60 Palestinian fighters killed in Gaza

Israeli forces have killed nearly 60 Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army said through an announcement on January 18th.

The announcement said the fighters were killed in Israeli Army operations over the past 24 hours.

Close to 40 warriors were killed in the southern Han Yunis area and several others north of the Gaza Strip, including in a building used by the Palestinian faction, Islamic JihadIt was said in the Israeli Army's statement.

The war between Israel and Hamas ʹthe Palestinian group declared terrorist organisation by the United States and the European Union began on 7 October, after the radical Palestinian group attacked the south of Israel.

During the October 7th attack, Hamas killed about 1,200 people and kidnapped another 250.

Israel responded with land, sea, and air offensive. According to the Health Ministry in Hamas-led Gaza, more than 24,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks. But this institution does not distinguish between civilians and killed warriors.

Israel has pledged to destroy Hamas' ruling and military capabilities and release the remaining hostages in Gaza.
