The United States is by no means involved in the blasts that rocked Iran on Wednesday and has no reason to believe that Israel was involved, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.
At least 103 people were killed and over 170 were injured by two blasts Wednesday morning during the 4th anniversary of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard general's death ceremony, Qassem Solejmani, who was killed in 2020 by a fearful attack.
Iranian officials have named the two bombings in the town of Kerman, where Soleiman is buried, as a “terrorist attack”, without providing further details.
“The United States is not included in any way, and any suggestion for this is funny”, Matthew said. Miller on Wednesday night.
He added that the US “has no reason to believe that Israel is involved in these” bombings.
The blasts in Iran occurred a day after Hamas' number two, Saleh al-Arouri, was killed by an alleged Israeli attack on Lebanon's capital, Beirut.
Hamas has been declared a terrorist organisation by the United States and the European Union.
Miller named Arowr a brutal subx0 terrorist with hands stained with the blood of civilians”.
He called against the escalation of war in the Middle East region.
It is in no one's interest to any country in the region, to any country in the world, for this conflict to escalate more than has already escalated”, Miller said.
Miller refused to comment on who could carry out the attack on Iran. / REL
