Deputy Foreign Minister and Diaspora Kressnik Ahmeti cites Greece as an opportunity to recognise Kosovo, as he emphasises that reports between the two countries are very close.
“Appointment is daily in this direction. It is clear that new recognitions have been showing that they cannot come to waves as they came immediately after the declaration of independence, for already known reasons, as 117 countries have only recognised Kosovo. There are developments in a number of countries, apart from those of the European Union, four of which are members of NATO. By prioritizing these because even multilateral goals have EU and NATO priorities. With Greece we have had the most significant development, when we have raised the status of our office in Athens from an office on economic issues to an office on issues of interest for Kosovo”, Deputy Minister Ahmeti points out for Kosovapress.
In addition, Ahmeti is optimistic that in 2024 there will be positive moves regarding Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe. He claims that the EC's entity lawyers' report for Kosovo has been positive and that there is no condition in terms of dialogue with Serbia.
