Although this bill does not have the support of the Vetvendosje Movement deputies, Haxhiu has demanded that support be given even by the opposition.
She has said that in the time they were in opposition, every bill that has been in the best interests of citizens has supported her, while otherwise she says they did it when the agreements were harmful.
Haxhiu has declared that communications with MPs to obey will continue, as he considers lawmakers to be under obligation.
“I consider that consultations with MPs should continue, and I don't think it's good for Government to proceed to the assembly once again the Civil Code without making sure it has the backing of the Parliament's deputies, but here I would say that the opposition has an obligation, given that the Civil Code is for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, and not just for a group of”, she said.
Justice Minister Civil Code has called it important for citizens, as civil laws are outdated.
“I consider that the Civil Code is extremely important as a document because it addresses the rights of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and the civil field laws which are some in the Republic of Kosovo, and which are powers that are extraordinary and do not respond at all to the current circumstances in the Republic of Kosovo, given its importance I consider to be very important”, Haxhi said, while saying he has not lacked even head communication. “We have been in communication with the deputies of the Republic of Kosovo, responsible with the parliamentary group individually but also in separate groups, to seek their support for this document, which is extremely important”, she said.
The first of the MD has said support should also give the opposition deputies, since they represent citizens' rights. It cites the support it has given governments past in times of opposition.
“At the time when we were in opposition any initiative that has been in the interest of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo we have supported, we have rejected and protested the initiatives which I have been opposed to the Republic of Kosovo, with public interest in the interest of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, yet how many times there has been any reform initiative we have supported it. They have the obligation because they represent the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, so they should also vote in the Kosovo Assembly, choose for, against or even abstain. However, their approach, of course, has not been constructive, but I wish that they gradually change their attitude and the moment we proceed to the Parliament, vote for the same”, Haxhi said. / EO
