Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Donika Grovalla Schwarz has said that “topi” is in the European Union for finalising three agreements with Serbia. It has asked the EU to bring Serbia to the table to sign the agreements, including mutual recognition of the two states.
The top diplomat has acknowledged that the Ohrid agreement is bad, as she does not envision recognition of Kosovo on Serbia's part, but only de-facto recognition. But, as she says, it was because international allies were on the table.
If we were alone with Serbia at the table, I would say it was wrong, but if our most important partners are locked in this process, I think this has been an important step”, she said.
We first started the “Talks for mutual recognition, not de-facto recognition. It has not been sufficiently praised by the Allies the movements Kosovo has made, from demand to mutual recognition as the centre of our negotiations to an admission of a basic” agreement, she said.
Furthermore, the first of Kosovo diplomacy has said the ball is in the EU. According to her, internationals should bring Serbia to the table.
“The EU, should bring Serbia to the table for signing three documents. If you can't get to bring in I don't see the possibility of Kosovo moving. What counts for us applies to Serbia as well. The ball is not in Kosovo, the ball has moved. If the EU obeys Serbia, we move forward. Requests to Kosovo are not fair”, she told Tv1.
