People from all over the world have celebrated the coming of the 2024 New Year in various ways.

And the celebrations come even though the ongoing conflicts of the globe raise security concerns and lead to silent or even cancelled celebrations, Telegragraphy notes.

The New Zealanders were among the first to celebrate the arrival of 2017 with a fireworks show in Auckland.

Sydney, Australia's largest city, hosted the arrival of 2024 with a massive display of fireworks to mark the 50th anniversary of its famous Opera House.

Fireworks lit up the night sky and were accompanied by a laser light and animation performance during New Year's celebrations in Tokyo.

From Bangkok to Beijing, Istanbul, London, Mumbai and Paris, millions worldwide joined the festivities.
