EU and US “in the same line” for the Western Balkans

The European Union and the United States are in the same line as the Western Balkans, said the bloc's envoy for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak.

Lajcak in Davos, Switzerland, met with US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia James O'Brien.

According to the EU envoy, they talked about the Western Balkan region.

I started this week in Davos with a meeting. The development of this talk about the Balkans at the beginning of this year was important. We want to see the region move forward and his citizens benefit. I'm glad we updated that we're fully on the same line”, Lajcak wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Other leaders from the Western Balkan region, including Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, are participating in the work of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

A day earlier, Lajcak in Davos met with Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislim, with particular emphasis on the need for immediate implementation of the Agreement on the path towards normalising reports between Kosovo and Serbia.
