A group of armed men have entered a live television studio in Ecuador and have threatened staff, showing images.
A live broadcast from the TC station in the town of Guayaquil was cut off Tuesday by the group, which was wearing hoods and weapons, the BBC reports, broadcasts Klankosova.tv.
The staff was forced to sit on the floor before direct transmission was interrupted.
A state of emergency, 60, began in Ecuador on Monday after a condemned gang leader disappeared from his prison cell.
The hooded men were seen leaving the TC studios, while police were seen entering the group about 30 minutes after armed men first appeared.
National police units in Quito and Guayaquil are located at the scene.
Since the state of emergency declared, at least seven police officers have been kidnapped by gang members.
The measures were introduced by President Daniel Noboa after the gang's boss Los Choneros disappeared from a maximum security prison Sunday.
Nearly 40 other prisoners, including another convicted drug lord, fled another prison in the town of Riobababe in the early hours of Tuesday.
