Criticised Lajcak, the EU warned Gervala: Unconfirmed statements are unacceptable

Inaccurate claims have been named European Union spokesman Peter Stano, statements by Kosovo's top diplomat, Donika Grovalla, concerning the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue process. Geralla on Thursday during an interview for public television, has accused Miroslav Lajcak, the EU envoy of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, of failing in the process.
“It has entered without strategy and without vision into this process of dialogue and, as it appears, will leave this dialogue when the mandate expires”, the foreign affairs minister has indicated.
To these statements Stano has responded, who in a written response to Telegrafi has said that “if Kosovo's strategic orientation is really the EU and if Kosovo wants to continue on this road, permanent critical statements unconfirmed against The EU and its representatives are simply not acceptable”.
He has now stated that in terms of dialogue “it is absurd to talk about lack of vision, strategy and results of the process facilitated by the EU in a situation where the EU and the US proposed the Road to Normalisation”.
“Prime Minister Kurti and President Vuciq agreed on, and offers a clear platform for the road forward to normalise relations between Kosovo and Serbia”.
Stano has stressed that thanks to EU assistance, a series of agreements between the two countries have been reached during 2019-2024. Here he has mentioned the Energy Guide, the recent recognition of the license plates, the recognition of ID cards and, as he has said, many other impact results and tangible benefits for people in Kosovo and for their lives.
All this except continued efforts to ease crises caused by unilateral and uncoordinated decisions or actions”.
Besides criticising Lajcak, Gervala has also rejected the draft Asociation statute in Serb majority municipalities, also proposed by the EU, in an effort to move forward with the establishment of association.
In this regard, Stano has said that association is Kosovo's past legal commitment.
According to him, the statute was drafted by the EU following Kosovo's failure to meet this obligation to submit a draft on their part, despite numerous calls from the EU and its member states.
“Draft is prepared by respecting Kosovo's red lines, with the active participation of international legal experts and approved by the US and all EU member states. Even its prime minister, Kurti, wanted to sign and implement as it is”, is said to respond to the EU spokesman.
Gervala in her interview has also spoken of EU measures towards Kosovo, saying they are not only unfair but totally incomprehensible.
“not just for us, but for part of the European Union representatives. They don't know how to get rid of them because they don't know what they've put”, the head diplomat has declared.
In this regard, Stano has said the EU has made specific demands on Kosovo for de-scaling the situation in the north and that they have been clearly and repeatedly communicated to the Kosovo side.
According to him, however, Kosovo has not yet fully met these requirements.
“This is why the EU is still implementing measures towards Kosovo, as clearly defined in the conclusions unanimously approved by the 27 EU member states in December”.
The drill has talked about EU assessments of the September 24th terrorist attack in Banjka.
“There have been different assessments on the part of EU institutions, which have led to a wrong assessment of what happened in Kosovo. The fact that the EU, even after the statements and resolutions of the European Parliament, even after various statements of European Union member states, the EU as an institution so, that part of EU institutions, which deals with EU foreign policy, is namely, the Borelli office has failed to give the verdict about what happened in Banjska”, it has been expressed.
But according to Stanos, this has nothing to do with the work of EU special representatives for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
This has nothing to do with the work of special representatives for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue. It's also false to say that EULEX has all facts because the EU is still awaiting finalisation of official investigations by Kosovo authorities”.
He has now said that the EU is not conducting any separate investigation into the attack, and that there is neither a mandate to do so.
“since 2018, E ULEX no longer has an executive mandate to conduct any investigation. The EU has repeatedly condemned the attacks in the strongest terms possible, provided support in the process and expressed at the highest political level the need for the investigation to be completed quickly and all responsible to render the” accounts.
