COMM The STT has announced that on January 29th, by 11th, it will protest pay hikes, the signal writes.

This protest is said to come as an expression of COST's trade unions and workers' discontent with the presentation of “escalation of 15 percent to 3 percent approved” by COST chief executive, dated 24.01.2024.

The signal has contacted COSTT Union Chairman Arben Plana, who said internal competitions have become a concern, as foreign competitions are being opened to submarine domestic workers.

The “Proteta is taking place, since internal competitions are a concern, it is expected to fail the internal competition and to open the external competition, that's little to underestimate domestic workers. It is also the escalating salary increase, where it has made increases for the lowest staff of 7 percent, where the chief's salary is eight times the minimum wage. And as a sign of disappointment with the escalation of growth, where the ZRR has allowed this growth due to inflation, it means inflation has affected the management of not the working class”, he said.

Plana said that the union feels neglected because this decision of the COST board has been taken without their consent.

We will demand that this escalating decision be taken without our consent. We've asked first to introduce us to the unions, we've been neglected, we're not being regarded as the Workers' Unions, but it's only gone to the board and they've done it as they wanted to be”, he showed.

He said further that the board and chief chief should resign and that if their demands are not realised, they will continue on strike.

We're going to ask for the decision back, and our request has been that 20 percent increase in the basic salary for staff: Inveniericals, technicians, specialists to cleaners or minimum maintenance wages. If you don't pull this off, we'll go with the next protest, if there's no result and they won't be convinced that this decision has to be abolished, then we'll go to the strike, we'll form the strike council and resign the board and chief chief chief chief-in-chief”, Plana said about the signal.
