Constitutional Court has voted in favour of Albania agreement Italy for immigrants, which was signed by the prime ministers of both countries, Edi Rama and Giorgia Melon.

The decision is expected to be made public at 3:30. It will be Constitutional Court head Olita Zacaj, who is expected to hold a conference with journalists, where and to communicate and legal reasons for passing the agreement.

The Democratic Party, both the official of Lulzim Basha and two other groupings -- Sali Berisha and the White Gasment -- brought the agreement to this court on December 6th.

A few days ago, the Italian Parliament approved the 155 votes, 115 against and 2 abstentions the draft bill for ratification of the Italian-Albanian agreement for immigrants.

The agreement signed in Rome on 6 November last year, between the prime ministers of the two countries, includes immigrants leaving North Africa and caught at sea by Italian ships.
It envisions setting up a point in the Shengjina where the immigration verification procedures will be carried out and a centre in Gader, where they will be kept isolated until the end of the procedures for admission or not of asylum. The responsibility for any event will be Italy's, which is recognised and full jurisdiction over the waiting centre.
