The value and importance of strong bilateral relations between the two states were highlighted at the meeting, as it discussed new areas and possibilities of bilateral co-operation in the service of joint interests and strengthening bilateral reports.

Prime Minister Kurti informed Secretary Cameron of Kosovo's progress and achievements, especially in the past three years, both economic and democratic and rule of law. He spoke of the successes and challenges of the year 2023 and his commitment and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo for economic development in the face of fighting crime and corruption, raising citizens' welfare through employment and adequate social policies, and guaranteeing security and peace in the country in the face of the aggressive and threatening behaviour of Serbia”, the ZKM communique said.

“He thanked Secretary Cameron for his contribution even as prime minister of the United Kingdom and the continued support this state has given Kosovo in the liberation, independence, democratisation, internal development and international integration, and now recently to boost security along the border with Serbia with the deployment of 200 British soldiers in October last year under the NATO mission in Kosovo”.

“Secretary Cameron expressed his gratitude for his hospitality on this visit, which in addition to his first in Kosovo, is also his first abroad for 2024. He expressed pride in the support the United Kingdom has given Kosovo and the decision and attitude to recognise its sovereignty and independence. I'm here to reinforce the fact that we support you. We want to help you on the security level, economic development, governance and all the issues you face. We have been a long-term supporter of Kosovo and will continue to be such”, he said at the start of the <x3 session.

“This is the first visit of a United Kingdom Foreign Secretary to Kosovo since 2016. In Pristina, Secretary Cameron was being accompanied by Special Envoy of the United Kingdom for the Western Balkans, Lord Stuart Peach and British Ambassador to Kosovo Nicholas Abbott”, said in the communique.
