Media in Albania and Greece have all hinted that Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has not been invited to the informal meeting of Western Balkan leaders, organised by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, because of his conflict with official Athens, following the arrest for vote theft of Himara chairman Fred Beleri, who is a Greek minority in Albania.
Opinionist Fitim Salihu says Rama was not invited by the Greek prime minister for <x0 nationalist”. According to him, neither Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has had to accept the invitation to informal dinner, as Mitsotakis, “holds chauvinist resentment with Albania”.
Full Posting:
Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitotakis has decided to call the leaders of the region in Athens tonight. But nationalist outrage has not invited Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama.
Micotakis has been using him as an alibi for his revulsion the arrest of Himara mayoral candidate Frede Beler, caught in the flaggart by buying votes a few days before the last local elections. But, vote buying, Greece is masking it with violation of Greek minority rights.
Furthermore, Fred Beler is known for his recent statements to “the Yermira”. In addition, he was arrested in 1995 for the attack by vocalizers against Albanian Army border posts in the village of Gjirokastra's Fish.
This invasion of Albanian sovereignty was preceded by the expulsion of thousands of Albanian immigrants working in Greece in the summer of 1993, at the time of Prime Minister Konstantinos Mitotakis's premiere, the father of modern Greek Prime Minister Kiriacos Mitcotakis.
At our informal dinner in Athens, where Edi Rama was not invited, Albin Kurti and Aleksandar Vucinqi were invited. Kosovo's prime minister would not have to go to Athens as long as Mitsotakis holds chauvinist resentment with Albania.
After all, refusing to meet Rama in Tirana and accepting the meeting with Mitcotakis in Athens, at best it is hypocrisy.
