Pigozin appears in a few weeks, confirms Wagner's departure from Ukraine

According to Prigozhin, the Russian mercenary group will stop engagement in Russia's war in Ukraine.

In a video published by his team in Telegram, Prigozhin was seen in front of a large number of armed men greeting “on Belarus soil”.

Since Wagner's leader has been spotted leaving the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don on June 24th, nothing has been known about his whereabouts.

Prigozhin once was a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

You've done a lot for Russia. What's happening now on the front line is a body we don't need to participate in. We have to wait for the moment when we can fully express ourselves”, Prigozhin said in the video, the date of the recording that is unknown.

Among other things, Prigozhin said that we've made a decision to stay here in Belarus for a while “.

During that time, I believe that they will turn the Belarusan army into the second best army in the world. We need to train more, then head to the new destination, Africa, and later, certainly, we will return to special military operation [in Ukraine], when we are sure we will not be forced to embarrass ourselves”, Prigozhi added.

The fate of Wagner's troops has been unclear since Prigozhin started the rebellion on June 23rd and 24th in Russia, at once the biggest threat to Russian President Vladimir Putin in his 23rd years of power.

Belarus's authoritarian leader and Putin's close ally, Alyaxasander Lucasenka, is involved in talks to end the rebellion.

In the brokered agreement between Prigozhin and Putin, Lucashenka has agreed to accept Wagner and his leader in Belarus.

Before the rebellion began, Wagner's forces have helped Russian military forces in the fight against Ukraine.

In the last period, however, Prigozy has complained that the Kremlin is not providing properly for members of his group. / REL
