Lake Badovtz, rich with 20 species of fish, some weigh up to 200 pounds [200 kg]

This lake is located just a few miles from Pristina. It's a quiet place, surrounded by mountains.

Some prefer to visit this lake to spend the weekend with family or society, but others also to fish.

Badovci Lake is rich in various kinds of fish.

Since the war, Grain says he's been fishing. However, this fisherman's special feature is that there is only one fish that fishs it, and it is the Krapi.

And the most often you visit Badovci Lake because I feel really good here, there's fish. I started growing up in the sands. Here in Badovc I do the Krap fishing. Here I come very often, and when we come, we stay one to two nights, but it can happen until four days in the lake. It's not fast fishing, but it's fishing waiting to last longer for the Krapi fish. I'm in love with him because he's the most powerful attraction he's more attractive to fishing. Most of the time we come with friends, but also with families”, Graina said.

The fisherman relates that the sport was made only for hobby.

He says he has a fishing permit and that he has never been fishing for two decades before.

There are times that no one gets, but there are times that you can catch three and four, depending on how fish feed. We've got fishing plates to throw out food and wait if we can catch something and then walk home again. In fishing, I like quiet, we stop working here. Nobody bothers us and relaxes”, he said.

He recalls the special moment of his life eight years earlier when he had managed to catch the biggest fish, weighing 14 kilograms [14 kg] and being the Krapi.

I got the biggest five and a half pounds and it's the Krap. I dropped it, and this happened eight years ago. And in this year I caught only one fish two kilograms of”, he ended up.

Badovci Lake has about 20 species of fish

For Arbresh.info, the chairman of Kosovo's Federation of Fishermen, Milaim Vitia, shows that this lake has a total of 20 species of fish.

According to him, there are some species of fish that weigh up to 120 pounds [200 kg]. But these fish, he says, are not allowed to be caught.

Earlier, the fishing was destroyed by nets, where we are working day and night to fix it to restore fish for more. We have many good lakes in Kosovo. We don't need to go to Albania to fish when we have all conditions”.

It also tells us the rich species of fish with which this lake is rich, including the Somfish, Krapi, Stuka, and Devirka.
