Democratic Party of Kosovo Deputy Chairman Vlora Citaku has commented on Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi's statement, which has said Kosovo should not announce elections in the country's north, without removing punitive measures imposed by the European Union.
In a Facebook post, Citaku has announced that some senior officials from the US will stay in Kosovo this weekend.
For this, she has called on the government to take international recommendations seriously.
So, the Government of Kosovo through Z VKM Bislim has set conditions for the European Union and America. What planet do you live on? What are your motives? Do you have ambition for the Republic of Kosovo? Do you want to have EU member Kosovo? You're sorry. It was also a ridiculous vow, as if you were not wearing the official garment on your shoulders. Who do you think you are? Do you think you love Kosovo more than we do?! We won't let you risk our country's future. Some senior US officials will stay in Kosovo this weekend. No kidding. Take the recommendations seriously. Governance is not a child's game, nor is it a coupon to compensate for your historical deficit”, she wrote.
Bislimi said he is awaiting the EU announcement to lift sanctions, following the compliance achieved between Kosovo and the EU in Bratislava, and the withdrawal of 25% of police forces from municipal buildings in 4 northern municipalities.
Although earlier, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has said that organising the elections allows Kosovo's legal arrangement and that something like that can be done through a petition signed by 20 per cent of citizens on the voter list, who can initiate the process of new elections, Bislimi said it is not certain that there is an appropriate legal basis for their proclamation.
The “is Kosovo's internal problem, which we disagree about is enough administrative direction, or law must be”, said Bislimi, who is also Kosovo's chief negotiator in dialogue with Serbia.
Due to the failure to meet the requirements submitted by the European bloc, Brussels in late June began implementing several punitive measures against Kosovo.
