Lajcak in Vienna: Exchanged ideas on normalising Kosovo-Serbia relations, discussed EU enlargement role

The European Union's Emisari for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, in discussion with panelists in Vienna, has exchanged ideas on how European Union enlargement will take place in the Western Balkan region after normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia. So he made it known through a post in his account [...]

That's how he made it known through a post in his Twitter account.

A good exchange for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia, future steps and the role of European Union enlargement tonight in Vienna. I thank you for my organisation and co-containing Wolfgang Petritsch and Stephanie Fenkart for discussing”, Lajcak wrote.

Lajcak, while talking about the upcoming summit of high-level dialogue expected to be held on May two, has said that as the first summit after Ohrid, it will be an important meeting for implementation of its Agreement and Annex.

Through a Facebook post, Lajcak has stressed that the agenda will include the official adoption of the Declaration of Missing Persons, the presentation of the draft State of Association.

“We expect both sides to come to Brussels well prepared and fully dedicated in the implementation phase”, he wrote.

He has announced that he had attended this week's EU regional meeting for the Western Balkans.

Earlier this week in Brussels, Lajcak met with NATO KFOR Commander Major General Ristuccia “to update each other in our respective areas of responsibility”.

I value our close co-operation and his valuable knowledge of the security situation in Kosovo, in particular in northern Kosovo. I have also had a meeting with the chairman of the Foreign Relations Department of the European Economic Committee and Social Dimitriadis”, he added.

I am grateful for his interest and support in the Dialog and I appreciate the practical efforts of the ECE in promoting dialogue and co-operation in advancing our common goals in the Western Balkans”.
