Last week I requested from the Justice Minister in Serbia that our two citizens be transferred to the Republic of Kosovo.
Nezir Mehmetaj and Petrit Dula are held in Serbia on claims of committing war crimes against the civilian population in Kosovo during 1999.
Mr. Mehmetaj and Mr. Dula are citizens of Kosovo, so even under the protection of the Republic. The process so far towards the two citizens of the Republic of Kosovo is made up of serious human rights violations for years.
Any charges against them for alleged crimes should be handled by justice bodies in the Republic of Kosovo.
