Kusari-Lila: Serbia willing to recognise Kosovo only in territorial exchange

At today's Assembly session, where the agreement is being discussed with Serbia, the chief of majority deputies has said Serbia at no time has shown its readiness to recognise Kosovo, except for one case, as has been suggested, when the exchange of territories has been discussed.

Speaking of the possibilities for the unsigned agreement with Serbia to go to the Assembly for ratification, she has voiced sceptical about it, as she has said there are provisions of the deal that talk only about implementing past agreements, some of them that have been ratified in the Assembly.

“We as the Parliament can help the process, but by overseeing the implementation of this agreement, which will already be considered in terms agreed on by the two sides. We may have our constitutional role to help the government, but also to provide information to the citizens that each step of implementing the agreement understand exactly”, she said.

In addition, Kusari-Lila has added that the agreement with Serbia opens the doors to Kosovo's recognition by the five EU nations.
