German arms producer Rheinmetall, who, among other things, produces Leopard tanks, wants to open a tank factory in Ukraine.
Paperger, has declared that negotiations on building such a factory are under way and that a decision can be reached within two months.
A potential factory would cost around 200m euros and could produce about 400 tanks annually.
The executive director added that air defence systems can be installed in factories to protect the facility, and that a new version of the fully digital Panter tank can be produced in Ukraine.
Rheinmetall is Germany's largest arms producer with about 25 thousand employees.
