Albanian MP in Sweden's Parliament Saves Baby's Life in Montenegro

I was crossing the bridge and looking into the water when I saw a woman and a baby swimming in the river. Some other boys came, went down to the river, and pulled the baby out of the water. Others called an ambulance. I ran toward them and saw the baby holding in its arms, which had no signs of life. Since I have a small child at home, I knew what to do in such a situation”, Debrani said.

He feared that it was too late but did not give up.

I took the baby from them and I tried to do what I know, as best I could, I shook the baby, and I pulled the water out of his lungs. When I heard his clearness, I rushed to the emergency and delivered the baby to”, says Debrani.

He relates that the baby had been in the river for a few minutes.

I just hoped that the child would start breathing. And when I heard his scream, he gave me extra energy to make it through to save him, said Debrani. I'm going to hug my children, and in my mind I hope the baby will soon be healthy again with its parents”

Presidential elections in Montenegro have been held Sunday.

Adnan Debrani, who is from Mitrovica, has migrated to Sweden in 1992 as 7-year-old. He is an MP for the Swedish Parliament from the Social Democrats.
