Kosovo police have held a protest today in which they have submitted 14 requests for the Kosovo government, which they expect to meet in an opitmal deadline. They have said they have had verbal and written requests for the government but that have not received answers, and it has also become known that they have submitted a petition with 5700 signatures in the Kosovo Assembly but that have been answered.

Police have sought basic working conditions and dignified treatment from clothing, labor tools, and logistical means.

Full speech:

Today we are here to attend, support, and publicly present the legitimate requirements of all members of the police here and here, even those who are doing official duties. So far we have addressed written requests and we have had meetings with government, we have had verbal requests and sent a petition to the Parliament with the frustrations of Kosovo police members with about 5700 signatures, and we have not yet received answers.

The KP has been and is committed to defence of public order and calm, protection of the integrity and territory of the Republic of Kosovo based on Kosovo's laws and Constitution, and the Kosovo government are seeking to meet the legitimate and legal requirements of police members in order to meet conditions and prosperity.

The demands we present today are of priority and require treatment in a timeline as yet as yet. Police requests are:

Improving overall working conditions:

Cloths, tools, logistics, police facilities, considering that some police objects and vehicles and other necessary equipment do not meet the minimum conditions for work.
2. The risk for police officials to be permanent and not depend on a certain country or location, as well as on asking that job risk additions be 25 per cent to 50 per cent of the basic wage and that a commission be formed to re-evaluate the level and classify risk surplus.

3. Including certain units in addition to labour market conditions.

4. The retirement law at 55 is the same as the Law for KSF.

5. Vital security and increased police budget funding for health services to cover costs for medicines and other services.

6. The invalidity of members of the KP who have been injured during official duty, we seek to establish a fund or set up a amount of financial means for the degree of disability.

7. Including civilian staff in addition to specific jobs.

8. Day shots for all KB members, not selectively.

9. The payment of the journey of those who travel far away from home to work.

10. The annual extension of a salary for all who have shown good performance during the end of the year.

11. Returning work experience for years to 0.5 as it has been, as well as recognising school qualifications.

Twelve. Return three follow-up salaries for retired officials.

13. A salary is granted to all members of the police who may have a case of death in their close family.

14. Caring for the well-being of KP members who have fallen or injured during official duty such as child schooling, employing one of the children or close members, securing residence if not.

We are willing to discuss and hope that the government will have understanding and call us at the meeting.
