Three days after the protest of the Special Intervention Unit and the Police Union, the government has not yet made any statements about the demands.
Kosovo Police Union Chairman Imer Zeqiri in a statement says he is waiting to be invited to the meeting by the Government.
He claims that if there is no response from the government, they will make their own invitation to the meeting.
We haven't had communication since then, so we haven't had an invitation. We are thinking of sending them an invitation to the meeting and discussing demands”, he said.
Zeqiri says police have some dissatisfaction over working conditions and that it is not only the financial side.
The additives have actually been very low and this has been the general dissatisfaction, but there have been other dissatisfactions, not only the financial side are some other conditions we've presented. These requirements have been old - fashioned and not only born that day. We're hoping that we will sit down and talk and set priorities on how to find out which of the requirements will be met, depends on Government”, he stressed on the telegram.
Zeqiri said he hopes 2024 will find Kosovo police officers in better condition.
