Bujar Osmani has confirmed this, saying DUI proposes Talat Xhaferi as prime minister.
Xhaferi is expected to take over the North Macedonian government from January, and will be the first time in history for official Skopje to be led by an Albanian prime minister.
As for possible pre-election coalitions, Osmani has said party troops have authorised President Ali Ahmeti to continue negotiations and propose the party's decision to go to the polls.
“We have analysed all possible options and variants for participation, as a party only and as part of the European front, and authorized Chairman Ali Ahmeti to continue talks and propose the party a decision that will be approved by party bodies”, said Bujar Osmani, DUI spokesman.
