Prime Minister Albin Kurti wrote that the overwhelming patriarchal <x0orms are widespread” and that “the arrest of the prime minister is not enough, in a Facebook response concerning the 30-year-old Maccabre murder of Liridona Ademiaj.
Kurti wrote that the perpetrators are not receiving merit sentences, and thus “the burden of system injustices” is falling “on the shoulders of women and girls”.
“Liridona Ademiaj was deliberately killed. She was killed because she was a woman. Women and girls are still getting killed until oppressive patriarchal standards are still widespread. The arrest of criminals is not enough. The burden of injustice of the justice system continues to fall on the shoulders of women and girls, since the perpetrators do not receive merit sentences”, Kurti wrote.
“Today it was the hearing, where the three suspects were assigned one month's detention. The commanding officer, the handbill, and the associate in the murder of Liridona must be punished and given the maximum sentence. This is done with an effective judicial and prosecutorial system and aware of their high social duties. Pain is great. The conscience is collective, in each family, home”, he added.
Kurti said that “to prevent these macabre crimes, we should work each, in each field and country.
“This patriarchal and mizogenic culture, this violent and toxic maskulin, we destroy only”, Kurti wrote.
“E citizens of the Republic expect from public officials working (or working) in state institutions that they should be a positive and progressive example in the society for their behaviour towards partners and in the family, not criminals or Serbs who believe they can do it by”, the prime minister wrote in his Facebook response.
